Had a nice walk of about an hour (kitted out in plenty of orange - it's hunting season) because one of our neighbors and co-owners of a piece of land down the hill sent an email asking if we'd mind snowmobiles accessing it. We wanted to try to get a better idea of the logistics of it, but frankly I'm still a bit confused. We did a lot of bushwhacking and crawling through barbed wire fences into and out of the cow pasture. It transpires that I'm terrified of cows. I hadn't realized I was quite that afraid. Eor kept us away from the bulls - he grew up around cows and he was like "just duck behind a tree if they go after you" but ... they're big, you know?

At my request Eor got some pics of balanced stone towers someone had built in the stream, and a rusted ancient plow that must have been pushed down the slope when someone decided they didn't need it anymore, a hundred years ago.

In the end we decided that would be okay with us, though I responded to our neighbor/co-owner that we hope to make a human trail in the area as well (I want to be able to walk from our property, through the woods and down to the store in town) so the snowmobilers would want to keep the speed down through there. Personally I think it's impossible to get snowmobiles to go slow, but Eor has faith in them to police themselves.
