Well, some of the more significant characters in "Cat" do come from "Moon". This is basically the first novel where Heinlein uses the device invented in "Beast" to start drawing his story lines together. The first time I read "Cat" I had already read "Time" and "Moon", but not "Beast". It made a lot more sense to me when I later ready the whole series in order.
