I was horrible to my Mom this morning - I felt very guilty. We went to bed at 1AM and I couldn't get right to sleep - I was hungry (wish I'd realized it before I went to bed). Then she woke up 6 hours later... well, I require about 8 hours sleep on a normal day, and can want more when I was up way too long the day before, and I woke up hungry. She let the cat out, opened the door to the computer room, where she was sleeping, and left it open, started browsing on my computer and laughing, talking to the cat, clearing her throat really loudly - in short, I got the impression that if she couldn't sleep I was not allowed to sleep either, she expected me to go attend on her. (Now I look back on it this was an odd assumption to make, but when operating on too little sleep I'm not exactly rational. She just talks constantly, I shouldn't have interpreted it that way, but that's how it seemed to me at the time.)

I stormed out of my room, shaking with anger, and went, "Do you need something?" She said, "I was just thinking a cup of coffee would be nice." So I seethed out thinking, "Oh, isn't that as pretty as you please! She woke me so I could make coffee for her, how nice!!" and put the coffee on, and she shortly came trailing after me and started chattering. I just looked at her and said, "I haven't had enough sleep, I'm starving, I'm shaking. Just. Be. Quiet." She went away. For a few minutes. You can't keep her down, I give her that. She was back soon, chattering more, but by that time at least I had six eggs in the pan and that made me feel better, to know food was on the way, so then I appologized.

I'm not a morning person.... in fact, I'm not a person at all in the morning, I'm just a dragon. If people move around, I'm happy as hell if they just make themselves at home, fix themselves breakfast or coffee or whatever they want, if I get the impression they're at least trying to be considerate and quiet. If someone must wake me I'd rather it be outright by a knock on the door. The best way to be waked is by an invitation to go out for breakfast.;)

Okay, I've got to sleep.... she's napping on the couch, or maybe she's in for the night, I don't know, so I'd better settle down and get the sleep I didn't get this morning. 6AM comes far too early.:P
