I need to phone up a place I used to work and bug the payroll person about an old check I found. She's supposed to be researching it for me, and I've given her like a month to do it, and have bugged her about it a number of times, but she just doesn't get back to me. Not even to say "I just can't find anything so stop calling me!" *eye-rolls*

Mom went north yesterday. I got an email from her "sister-in-law" this morning asking where she was. I thought she was going to phone said sister-in-law last night, and at the moment I have no idea where Mom is. So I looked up the phone number of the motel she's supposed to be staying at and sent her that. *shrug*

So now I get to catch up on a lot of things I couldn't do while Mom was here. Yahoo groups! *glomp!* Nope, haven't even looked at them yet, actually. Though I did clean out my Yahoo mail. It was flooded. She has Yahoo mail, too, and every time I went to the computer she was logged in to it.

And the random work complaint... We were tested yesterday, and of course I can't tell anything about the testing proceedure because that would be releasing sekrit infermashun. Point which makes passenagers feel good: Screeners get tested, and our airport did quite well on the testing, overall. Point which raises all the screeners' stress levels: The impression we got from the testing is that our lives are completely disposable for $12/hr. And of course I can't tell anyone why, because that's sekrit infermashun again, so that increases my stress level yet again because I can't even blow off steam. This is not a hole in the system - everything worked exactly the way it was supposed to, we followed proceedure perfectly. It's just that I'm a dispensible component of the System.

Edit: I called the place I used to work and left a message on the voicemail of the supervisor of the woman who won't get back to me.
