The shoulder was so painful that, after my dentist's appointment, I went over to the Mall and got a 12$/10 minute massage. That guy was really pretty good! After he was done and I'd had breakfast (at Friendly's - it's a comfort food thing) and more painkillers, it was damped down to just feeling like I had a knife in my back at the peak of inhalation of each breath. And a deep stab whenever I tried to do certain random things.

That sounds awful! Do you know what's up with it? If not maybe you should have a doctor look at it.

It feels the same as when I hurt the other side, which kept me on light duty for ages and has never completely healed. As soon as you go on light duty the upper management starts subtly putting the pressure on to let you know that if you don't get off it PRETTY DAMNED QUICK you will be let go, so of course I'm loath to start opening up that can of worms, it's so uncomfortable. And tension does not contribute to the healing. I've got, you know, achievement awards and letters of commendation and special coins and all sorts of nice looking stuff, but that doesn't matter a bit as soon as you're not one hundred percent physically.
