Well, all my other To Do things from last night get topped this morning by dealing with CA Antivirus. This, you'll recall, is what trashed my computer a couple of months ago when it tried to uninstall itself because my subscription had "expired." Well, apparently I bought a life-time self-renewing subscription, and I got a notice this morning letting me know my credit card will be charged $49.99 on Jan 18 (or the 15th if they feel like it) unless I can jump through certain hoops which include having the "Activation Code" - of which I know they've sent me at least six different codes on two different occasions (when I bought this original renewing subscription and when they scammed me into buying the other which subsequently killed my computer) and which, of course, has been lost with the deletion of all my old mail. A whole swath of old emails were completely blank, and I went through deleting old stuff like a maniac just a couple of nights ago because so much stuff was blank and there seemed no sense in keeping a lot of other things - I'm sure that those codes are long gone between both those situations. I know I rounded up anything related to CA and deleted it with a vengeance, thinking I was done with them. And then emptied the trash bin.

I proposed calling all my credit cards and telling them not to let CA charge anything, but Eor says the credit card companies will tell you to go to the business in question and talk to them. I have a number he dug up for me after long work, and will start trying it as soon as I have some breakfast, but I suspect they keep west coast time. There's supposedly a live chat help support; it requires a lot of information I don't know. I'm giving it a shot, though, right now. I probably should make food before I do that, because I'm not feeling sharp or patient at the moment, but ...

Oh no. Fucking perfect. Now their site is trying to download support software for the live chat. Am posting this now in haste before I go to deal with how to get the hell out of this. I may have to turn off my computer.
If you don't have an account you can create one now.
