I officially hate the laundry room. Aside from the fact that there's no hot water and the place is not too terribly clean, picture a room built so that it stands alone in the middle of a huge, spooky dirty old cellar. And they've got the lights on a timer, so if you take too long down there, suddenly you're finding your way back to the stairs in the dark. I'm not good with the dark, especially in large spaces. Which actually is one reason I like this smaller apartment. Yeah, not enough room for our stuff, but on the plus side there's not as much room for boogymen, either.:)
Sounds as it it's raining outside. Ah, spring, how nice. It's not snow. Spring, the time of moving in Portland. Everyone is moving, not just us. Every time I go out I see at least one person carrying handfulls of clothes hangers with the clothes on them, or with televisions or stereo speakers under their arms. Uhaul trucks and pickups with furniture in the back are badly parked all over the place. Moving is a Portland sport all year round, but in spring and fall there're also the college kids coming and going.
I was going to ramble on about cameras this evening, but it's way too late and I need to sleep so I can get up and finish the laundry tomorrow in daylight. :P I guess I can't complain too terribly much, at least I did get a chance to read some fic this evening. Last month someone posted a story on the Yahoo group 'holmesslash' - "The Adventure of the Manor House," by lyrastarwatcher - which I've been dying to get around to, and I finally said tonight was the night. It's a pretty good mystery, actually, it totally hooked me. She probably should have had someone beta it, she had a few typos and odd word choices that didn't really work, but I try to avoid complaining about such things unless I feel like making the corrections myself, and I'm not up to it right now.
