I put my hair up in pigtails for work today, because I felt like shit this morning and wanted to look as bad as I felt - it was a kind of "keep away from me so I can die in peace" instinct, I wanted to repel people.

And I got compliments on how cute my hair looked all day.

When I told ElvenGirl and CeeJay (previously referred to in this journal as CG) that, they suggested it would be more effective to just not brush my hair so that people would think I was dirty and smelly, or actually not take a shower. I admitted that after walking to work I am rather sweaty anyway (all I can really do about that is pat myself off with paper towels and powder myself down) and ElvenGirl offered, "You could take a shower when you get to work, and CeeJay and I could scrub your back for you!"

I was like "o.0!?" - and ElvenGirl got a good laugh out of my expression. :)

Later CeeJay called me Poke-her-hontas, and I admitted in high school I was called Squaw, because of my braids. (And my faux-buckskin jacket. Oh, and when I tell people that they always start to take offense, until I tell them it was a Native American kid who came up with that nick.)

Bush Selects Zombie-Reagan over Dick Cheney

I get holiday pay on Friday, for the National Day of Mourning, so I guess I have one thing to thank Reagan for.:)

Zombie Reagan...that's awesome. I'm gonna paste that link into my journal, along with a GREAT essay from truthout.org on the REAL legacy of Ronald Reagan's administration.

I always think my hair looks so messy in pigtails, but Mike loves it.

I see that portrait-maker you posted is making the rounds. I love it!

[livejournal.com profile] eor complains that all portrait makers make people look kind of the same, but this one has a lot more choices than the anime-style avatar maker, and I think it gives a much more real sense of what the person might kind of look like.

there's probabily a good reason for the complements, here in oz it's a common sexy look...lol
