It always sneaks up on me - Pride events started last Wednesday here in Portland, and the infamous Pier Dance is tonight.
Everyone says it's a great party. I never end up going because I don't know that anyone I know is going, and then I find out later that all kinds of people I know were there. One guy I work with is going to a pre-Dance party, but I don't know if he's planning to go to the Dance as well. But there are lots of people there, the chances of me randomly meeting someone I know are pretty slim. I hate huge crowds, and for $20 I could have a nice dinner out, with drinks. I'm kind of thinking I'll give it a miss again this year. But then again, not going out is probably why I don't know anyone.
