It's thick fog, today.:)  (It's warm out and all the snow is evaporating.)  Ah, happyness - I love fog. :)

And now, a snippet of Alice's Restaurant, because it's plunking around in my head.  I love this bit...

We walked in, sat down, Obie came in with the twenty seven eight-by-ten
colour glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back
of each one, sat down.  Man came in said, "All rise."  We all stood up,
and Obie stood up with the twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy
pictures, and the judge walked in sat down with a seeing eye dog, and he
sat down, we sat down. Obie looked at the seeing eye dog, and then at the
twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy pictures with circles and arrows
and a paragraph on the back of each one, and looked at the seeing eye dog.
And then at twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy pictures with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one and began to cry,
'cause Obie came to the realization that it was a typical case of American
blind justice, and there wasn't nothing he could do about it, and the
judge wasn't going to look at the twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy
pictures with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each
one explaining what each one was to be used as evidence against us.

But now to the real order of business... (who was it who said women always put the important part of a letter in the post script?  "The weather here is lovely, take care of yourself, all the best from your sister ... PS. It is a good thing the weather's nice because the house burned down so we're living in the garage for a while."):

I have like a million cards which I haven't thanked people for, and I just got a lovely packet of things from [livejournal.com profile] daegaer last night, which made me realize I have to get off my ass and at least thank people, even if I can't seem to get even so much as cards out.

So - [livejournal.com profile] daegaer, thank you!  Such lovely, pretty things.  Schwartz doesn't have to have anything to do with the music on the CD, the picture is cool.:)  And the picture of Aziraphale from the book of Kells!  It makes sense!  Although he looks as though the weather had him a bit down, all wrapped up in that shawl and his mouth looks sort of grumpy.  Did you notice his eyes are wicked bloodshot?  Also, whoever issued him that body was a little hazy on human anatomy - his hand is on backward.:)  But no picture of yourself?  *sigh*  I still want to marry you, you know, even if you are a dissembodied writing spirit.

[livejournal.com profile] bravecows - Thank you!  And I don't know if he's told you, but you totally made [livejournal.com profile] eor's day by sending him a card, I could tell, he just glowed. :)  You'd have laughed at how you confused me by sending cards which looked identical on the outside.:)  (I actually DID send you card a while back, but I sent it to your school address, so hopefully it will catch up with you someday.)

[livejournal.com profile] mizzmarvel - I don't know if I said already, but I totally squeeed with delight when I saw the Gilligan/Professor Valentine, and I just grin every time I walk by it.:)

[livejournal.com profile] laurenscavenger - "Litha"?  You managed to finda winter holiday I know nothing about.:)

[livejournal.com profile] tronella - Thank you for remembering me, and I promise I haven't forgotten you. :)  You're on my list, I'm just... haven't done my list.

I always feel so guilty about it, but I really suck at doing the whole Christmas thing.  So many times I have said "this year I didn't do well" - actually, it's pretty much every year.  I got token gifts of minor clothing, food and candy for six people - my very closest friends and relatives - and that was about my limit.  Even with only that I got so stressed out I ended up missing a good chunk of work the day I sent packages out.

Now I must take a shower and eat breakfast rather quickly - I have my physical this morning.  Ack!  Yuck!  Ptui!
