Summary: What, you didn't think the Livejournal blackout was an accident, did you?
One of my favorite lines (not the best, I don't want to ruin the impact of the best ;)): Crowley says, "...It's like any other addiction - unhealthy. I probably did these people a favor." That hit me because I was thinking, yesterday, that it really was a good thing for me, and after only a few hours I said "If they really want to break us of our addiction..." Not in LJ's best interest. Actually, cold turkey is not the best way to do it, it leaves one with a sense of unfinishedness, which was why I wrote the mega post of doom.
eor came up with a theory that the real reason it crashed was that a whole bunch of people began running archivers, and they came up with the power loss thing to cover because they didn't want to admit people were running like rats from a doomed ship.
