I'm all excited!
adina_atl has put up another installment of Green Ice (her Jeeves and Wooster x Lord Peter Wimsey that I'm sure many of you remember from Yuletide Treasure)! The second part is on her journal on Feb 22, and there's hope that she might finish the story completely by the end of this week! So cool. :)
However, reading Green Ice has to wait a few minutes. I have mint tea with honey and canned milk, I have rice toast with cashew butter and blackberry jam, and I have the last few pages of Around The World In Eighty Days to finish. (Eee - I <3 Passpartout! He totally gets the best part, and it's perfect for Jackie Chan, I'm really upset that everyone says the movie sucks.) And I'm hungry for that toast, because I've had a little exercise, pushing and shoveling to get the van out so
eor could get to work. (Eventually the balance on the last slippery spot was tipped by a guy - you might call him an itinerant worker, because he was walking around with a shovel, but if he hadn't had a shovel you'd have probably thought of him as a bum - who happened by and helped me push.)
I must say, though, the storm last night was nastier than I expected. It was cold rain in the morning, but began to freeze later on and swap around from the freezing rain to snow to sleet. People's car doors were frozen shut on the windward side. I had forgotten to bring gloves, because it wasn't so bad in the morning, and cleaning the car off was not fun. The fingers to numb very quickly, it's amazing. Driving home was challenging, and I couldn't go straight home, I had to detour to the pharmacy for
eor's ear drops. That on top of a very stressful day (being downstairs acting floor Lead for the first time and having my evaluation as a screener in baggage the same day) and having my period (sorry, I know you don't want to hear about that, but it's a major factor) and by the time I got home my lower back was cramped up somewhat painfully.
