Since I haven't done much writing, lately, and I'm waiting for my english muffins to toast, I think I'll begin some work complaints.

You may recall that, a while back I complained about CeeJay having been demoted, ostensibly for 'sexual harassment,' which seems completely out of character and, considering that I was present for one of the other incidents which this same person wrote someone up on as sexual harassment, I suspected might be spurious.  He was going through the process of pleading his case, and it seemed like he was watertight - word was it had gone to the lawyers and they said it was not sexual harassment, merely an inappropriate comment.  Someone passed on to me what the comment was, yesterday morning.  While discussing religion he had asked her if she believed in premarital sex.  Now, I realize I cut him a lot of slack because he's a redhead (I do have a soft spot for redheads) and I find him amusing, but that seems to be a pretty innocuous comment - probably slightly obnoxious, but considering that she would get on the phone and discuss with her friends, in detail, the things she'd got up to, sexually, in front of co-workers....  Well.

Pretty much everyone seems to agree that, even though he can be an obnoxious kid, he's always been an excellent Lead.  He maintains his composure with the nastiest passengers on the most harried, busy days, keeps things running smoothly, and generally makes the people working for him feel as though they're doing a good job.  (It seems really awful to say that he's a good lead because he doesn't treat us like imbeciles, as some of the other Leads and Supervisors often do, but unfortunately that's about the size of it.)  And for some reason he's managed to get himself written up more times than anyone else.  Now, you might say that having lots of write-ups indicates that demotion should have taken place, but I would have to argue that these write-ups seem to be his punishment for being a decent, easy-going person to work for.

She had her last day on Monday, and her exit interview.  He got the news on Tuesday that the decision was final, they're refusing his appeal, so apparently that was based on something she said in her exit interview.  The Ombudsman is visiting Friday.  Nice - the person responsible for all this mess won't be around to be questioned.  Our managers are presenting it to us that the Ombudswoman tours around and visits different airports.  Rumor has it that this is not true - she 'randomly' visits airports that are having problems.  I trust rumor a lot more than I trust out management.

Trouble is, if someone goes to see her while she's here the management will know that person went to see her and they'll put that person on their shit list.  So, we have to wait and hope she chooses to come speak to us.  (CeeJay will go in to speak to her, anyway, since he has nothing to lose at this point.)

Oh, wait, I forgot the topper.  His brother was holding a job for him which would have paid the same as the Lead position, but CeeJay was holding out thinking that he would get this all ironed out.  His brother had to give it away last Wednesday because his company really needed the position filled, and then Tuesday CeeJay's pay got cut with the finalized decision.  So... He's really probably not long for us.  At this point he's been abused enough that it'll be really surprising if he bothers to stick around for more.

In other news, the Scotia Prince (cruise ferry to Nova Scotia) is not going to run this summer because the city has failed to adequately clean up their facilities, here.  Which kills our plans for a trip to Yarmouth NS for September.  :P

It's a lovely, lovely day out and I should set off to walk to work, now. :)  I wish I could think of something really positive to say about anything I've been doing, but the best I have to report is that I did some dishes and finally took care of a dr.'s bill that's been hanging around on my desk.  (Called and found out that indeed it HAD already been paid, as I suspected.)  But as it's been there since January that's not much of an accomplishment.

If you can get yourself to Bar Harbor you can take the Cat to Yarmouth. It's "The Fastest Car Ferry in North America", according to their website. http://www.catferry.com/

It's kind of not the same thing, though. Part of what I was looking forward to was the trip. Drinking, dinner. Hm. But Teena will probably be dissappointed, she was looking forward to going. I haven't broken the news to her, as yet.
