I'm not sure I believe Weather Underground on that 63 degrees (17C) - they were very wrong, yesterday, when they reported scattered showers over Portland and it was sunny - but I AM wearing a flannel, which makes me feel soooo much better. I basically am not comfortable in weather where I can't at least have a hot tea and wear my light flannel. That's the one in this photo of me on the icon, so I do look pretty much like that, today, except my hair is in braids. And I had hot lapsang souchong today, so I'm feeling very much happier than the last two days. :)

I've finished typing up all the stuff I've written on my original fic, and it's depressing how little of it there is. It's also a little depressing that I don't think I'll have many readers for it, because it's original fic - or I should say that I know that will be somewhat depressing when I post it. Right now I'm able to keep up my enjoyment with it because the writing is fun. Well, the writing itself is just sort of there. Plotting and planning is fun. eor, who is, in my opinion, brilliant about such things. Which is not to say we always agree - not by a long shot.:) At any rate, I strongly suspect that what I need to do right now is bull on until I get to where I think is a good episode break - I need a cliffhanger to end the episode on, and I've got that point planned in my head - and then go back over this first episode and add more details.
Why is it so much slower doing this sort of thing than fanfic? Is it just because I have to create the world and the characters? Like I said, the fun part is really creating the world and thinking about how the characters will interact. Even if they are just sort of crack-AU Psmith and Mike. (Or crack-AU Holmes and Watson, or Raffles and Bunny, or Jeeves and Bertie, or possibly even Frodo and Sam or Bracy and Gedge.) Maybe I'm doing too much of the fun part and not enough of the work I have to do, getting it all down on paper.
I've only had one offer to beta my Jeeves/Bertie/Gussie fic, and that only for grammar and punctuation. If anyone feels they can offer constructive criticism on movement, even if you'd like to just beta this one scene for me (NOT a sex scene), I really need some feedback.
