I thought it would be cool to be able to give Paul Kidby-drawn Hogswatch cards out to the ladies in my book club, since they chose Hogfather for one of the two Christmas books.  But it's like $17.13 for four cards!  *flinches*  I guess not.  And the book isn't really going over well.  I'm baffled, of course, since to me Discworld is the best thing ever.  One of the ladies has said she's finding it difficult reading, and several others haven't started - I can't say I had much hope, considering the season.  Everyone's too busy.

(Better examples of what the cards actually look like here.)

(I don't understand why they offer the packs of four, though - if you buy any four cards, mix and matching the ones you like, it comes to the same price.)

While I was poking around I also found The Hogswatch Grotto which has a little fill in the blanks DIY Hogswatch letter home thing which was kind of fun.:)  (It doesn't seem to send, though, or at least not with my email client.)

I had sworn to myself I would not go online and spend all my time, today.  That, in fact, I would only go online to make a real post about what's going on with me in real life and work, then take the garbage out, do the dishes and return those things I bought in error at Wal-Mart the other day.  And pick up my library book.  It's kriselly* Thursday already.  I'm really not doing well this week.  I seem just to want to escape thinking about real life and work for every moment that I can.

*('kriselly' is my attempt at phonetically spelling the Maine dialect version of 'christly' - and yes, that's how it's used in a sentence.)
