I know my nerd score usedto-would have been higher, but if you don't use skills you lose them. I haven't used telnet in ages, and this morning I couldn't even remember how to find the ip of my machine. :(
So, as it ended up, I didn't walk to work, after all. My downstairs neighbor happened to see me setting out and offered me a ride. :) And, since we had lots of time, we stopped at the optometrist's and looked at new glasses frames for me, which was fun. :)
Oh, and I got to actually see the inside of her apartment, which is interesting to me because it's almost the identical layout to the one we have. Her's is really lovely. Very nicely decorated. Although far fewer bookshelves than we have, so it can appear more spacious, and I wouldn't give up our bookshelves for anything.:) We have a lot of stuff. I don't even think she's using the area which we use as our closet. It's like a tiny little hall that leads from the bedroom to the bathroom. I've told you all about our bathroom-in-the-closet. :) And I think her apartment was more nicely appointed to begin with. She has three times as many cabinets in the kitchen, to begin with, and it's painted yellow. Ours is green, and I was just saying to
First, though, we need to find a new kitchen light. They need to do the actual replacing of the light, I'm sure, but it would be good if we chose and offered to buy the replacement, so we can get something better in here. With a new light and getting rid of the green paint the kitchen would be so much less gloomy! I might be able to see the food I'm cooking. That would be novel.
