It's 14F (-10C).  I was going to walk down to the library this morning, but... hm.  I'll have the car tomorrow.

What a wuss I have become, letting the cold and wet hair keep me from going out.  Well, not from going out, because I still have to go at least as far as the bus stop.  I may possibly walk to work.

I was going to phone the library yesterday afternoon to see if they had "Arundel" (Kenneth Roberts) or if they would have to get it for me, but for some reason the phone number of the major branch of Portland Public Library (Monument Square, the branch I usually go to) is not in the phone book.

. . .

Wow.  I just spent fifteen minutes on the phone with PPL, both Monument Square and Riverton, and they both say there's not a copy of "Arundel" left in their system, right now.  That's at least six copies.  I wonder if it's just our little reading group causing this drain, or if it's assigned to some high school class?

I didn't know that a library can't request interlibrary loan if they own a copy of a book.  That seems kind of silly.

Oh well, you know what this mean?  BOOKSTORE HOPPING!!! :)
