My brother, Hawk, has gotten the graduate student place he applied for at University of New England months ago! And he thought he'd done so badly on the interview because he was wait-listed; obviously he wasn't too far down the wait-list. If I recall correctly the ratio of applicants to available spaces was something completely ridiculous - on the order of over a hundred for each spot.
And. I seem to have invited him to come live with us for the year he's in this intensive program. Which is not bad in a lot of ways - knowing he'll be busy it'll be nice to have him right here so we can have some little bit of time together, and it will save him a ton of money and grief. But I'm sort of dizzy with what this entails, because I'll have to toss out and reorganize a lot of stuff in the next couple of weeks in order to make room for him.
Meanwhile Eor's department at work has gone crazy yet again and there's a ton of yard work to be done right away because it's spring... anyhow, must get cracking.
