Sounds like our trees will remain relatively unmolested. He thinks it shouldn't disturb the roots too much, but they will dig down six inches to a foot in order to place the bed for the sidewalk. I almost asked, and probably should have, why they don't just build it up instead of digging down, but I think his reasoning is that they're going to keep the same curbstones. And the road is getting extended at the other end, so it'll no longer be a dead end. I foresee our street not being as quiet as it was.
