My mom gave me my rice cooker and told me it was non-stick, but it doesn't have that sort of grainy surface that non-stick things have, and also the rice sticks like hell. It is not too bad! What you do is after you've scooped as much rice out as you can, you pour some water into the rice cooker and leave it. After a night -- less than a night, really, but usually I just forget about it till the next morning -- the rice that's stuck on the bottom has gone all squishy and it is super easy to scrape it off.
