ETA: A note of explanation - I used to collect comics when I was 11 - 18 or so, and Misty Knight was a character I could see as a role model. What they've done to her pisses me off.

Eor's been trying to cheer me. He sang to me, "My blood runs cold, my memory has just been sold..." He says she's still a role model, just a role model sponsored by DuPont. "You too can have breasts that look like the front end of a ballistic missile submarine! Shouldn't Sean Connery be in there somewhere, pretending to be a Russian?"

I would so be stabbing my eyes out on a regular basis if I was into Western comics. Not that manga is any better -- note remark about hentai -- but at least it is honest about being wank fodder, so you know when to steer away from it.

Argh, watch those heels get higher and higher. Argh. She looks like she was a really cool character. :(

Yeah, I was similarly confused. About my third comment to inscrutable was:

Someone knows the song! :) I laughed uproariously, thinking of that black turtleneck in the first picture as the "soft, fuzzy sweater, too magical to touch."

I dunno about men, more like adolescent boys - Eor's a man, and he seems to totally get what's annoying me. The pictures attract the eye, but it's more a train wreck sort of thing, I think.
