Wet. Cold. No heat in the house.

It's a pretty good storm out there. Someone said at work yesterday that there was a nor'easter coming. I went out to the Post Office to mail out a package for [livejournal.com profile] eor (books, to his brother, who is in the process of adopting a girl-baby) and the City of Portland Public Works trucks are running around with their lights flashing, a sure sign that there's flooding and the sewers are backed up. I saw one hauling a Post Office truck. :)

I was careful to not park directly under the tree out front, though I suppose it might still kill my car if it decides to fall the wrong way.

We were woken (waked? I'm never sure) up in the middle of the night by the lightning and thunder and there was a tremendous crash that sounded as though it were within a block of us.

We were woken (waked? I'm never sure) up
Should read, We were awakened in the middle of the night.
Hope that helps.
