The snow last night turned to rain before we'd even finished shovelling our cars out this morning. Parking ban tonight, so I left my car at work and got a ride home from a co-worker. Made plans with Phoebe to ride in with her tomorrow, but after I got home realized I have a physical therapy appt at 7:45 tomorrow! So, will have to get Eor to take me in before he goes to work. A very short night, as we'll have to get up at 5:15 to do this.
We took the van down to the parking garage and began our trudge back, with a stop on the way for dinner at Norm's. It was something we'd been planning since the last snowstorm, when we got cheated from it because they didn't hold a parking ban. ;) The place was very quiet, so we sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender, Jasper of Hiss and Chambers (he would be the blond one in the back right of that crappy picture).
I know I've mentioned this before, but snow which is packed into ice and then has water on top of it is one of the worst ever surfaces to walk on. That trudge was tiring, but at least I didn't fall and break my ass. :) It always takes me back to high school, though, and I have to be happy with my life, now - at least I'm not fording a rushing stream with pack ice on the bottom, in my bare feet, just in order to get to school.
Off to bed, now. A nice, warm bed. :)
