In more movie reviews, this sounds like a particularly strange one: 'Catfish' - there are two pages to this review, and on the second the writer reveals some spoilers, but I say read it anyway, I don't think the interest of the movie will be spoiled as that's the part of the review that got me. What I am not entirely sure of is... is it an actual documentary, or is it really a fictional movie, in the same vein as Ben Affleck and Joaquin Pheonix's new I'm Still Here? And I ask that probably partly because I went straight from the one review to the other, because the link was offered at the bottom, so it's sort of implied to my mind that the NYTimes is putting two similar stories together.

More dreams, and this one is definetly an anxiety dream: What woke me this morning, with a whimper, was a dream in which I was about to be killed. I bought some gum at a convenience store and there were things hidden inside it (credit cards, broken glass, money and a razor blade) and after I gave it to the person who'd intended to buy it (thinking, you know, that if he got what he wanted he'd leave me alone) he then decided to kill me so I couldn't turn him in. On waking I decided that this was probably about me feeling physically unable to defend myself, too weak, so my response was to exercise this morning, even though in the dream he had a zip-gun (one shot, his looked like a little flashlight but they often are made to look like pens or tire gauges) and really it's not that likely I could survive even if I'd been in shape. But at least I thought I'd turn the anxiety to some good use. :) This must be why I never buy gum in real life.

Work: I'm getting an all-expenses paid trip to lovely down-town Newark on this coming Wednesday evening. Skipper and I will work here (teaching a class) from 8am to 5:30pm, then fly out. And those evening flights are always delayed, so I'll probably arrive in time to crash like a log, get up in the morning and attend a class all day, then fly home Thursday night. Hopefully the class will be in the same hotel so I can avoid going anywhere. Skipper thinks he's going to visit relatives, but I can't see getting much time to do anything.

However, if I find I do have time to socialize - mizzmarvel, what are the chances of hanging out? Understanding that I have no idea of how difficult it might be to get from Newark to Brooklyn, nor any clue what time the flight I'm taking usually comes in. I'm fine with spending my evening alone in a hotel room, but it would be cool to see you. :)
