Just remembered something else I wanted to relate: (co-worker) Buck asked what I was reading at work the other day and I showed him "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell"

"What's it about?"

"I can't really tell you as I haven't gotten very far into it, yet."

So he proceeded to read the entire overleaf of the jacket out loud in a declamatory voice. Then concluded with, "Sounds good! Sounds like something you would write. Except they'd be gay."

I've been meaning to tell him that as soon as Norrell gets to London he meets a very gay young man whom he allows to decorate his new house. Also, I'm only a quarter of the way into it, but at the moment I'm thinking Sir Walter Pole/Stephen Black makes a LOT of sense, as does Thistledown Hair*/Stephen Black.

*I don't know if he has a name, as yet.

I'm only about a quarter of the way through the book, but I am enjoying it immensely. :) *pokes around a bit* But the Yuletide archive seems to be down! :( Or at least the links in the recs post you made a while back, which is the only link I have at the moment. I have to get to bed right now, it's late here, I don't have time to poke around more and find what the links are, now. Who'd you see slashed?

Arabella and Lady Pole, I think, and Stephen Black and the gentleman with the thistledown hair! I'm not sure if there's any Jonathan Strange/Mr. Norrell fic -- not my pairing, so I didn't check -- but there might be!
