slicesmissus,
1)Where did you meet?
On the mainframe computer of University of Southern Maine. We both used it to chat, though I used IRC and he used USENET. We could message each other directly through the mainframe, which was what he did, over Christmas break when he noticed I was still on - most students go home over Christmas, so what was I doing? (I had to explain that my boyfriend and I both used the same account, so my logged in hours were not all me. Yes, I was in a relationship, but it was one which should have been ended years before.) So the first name I was ever used to calling him by was, in fact,
eor.
2) What was the first thought that went through your head when you met?
When we were very first messaging I thought he was much older than me - probably in his 40's - because he'd already been married and divorced. And I thought he was very odd. (I was right, though he's not, as it turns out, a psycho. ;))
We met in person quite by accident - I went to the computer lab at the college to lock my boyfriend out of my account, because he had locked me out of the computer at home. (yes, I did say we were a mess, didn't I?) Eor was online and helped me change my password, then messaged me, "turn around." I set eyes on a small, neatly built and rather scruffy looking guy, and my first thought was "this is my next boyfriend." I tried to reject the thought, because he was a little scary looking and I was in this place where I wanted to only date women if I broke up with my then-current bf. But it persisted. And it was correct. :)
3) Do you remember what he/she was wearing when you first met them?
Yeah, very clearly! :) Beat up jeans with holes in the knees, raggedy sneakers, a zip up running jacket with racing stripes on the sleeves that looked like it was left over from the 70's, and a black string tied around his throat. And unshaven. He looked like a hard case.
(I was wearing my brown wool coat that went down to my knees - it was actually fitted to my figure and looked rather good. And I had on china flats, which I remember distinctly because I'd just waded through a snowstorm, slushy snow up to my knees in some places, to get to the computer lab - my feet were soaked and freezing right through my two pair of socks. I didn't have better shoes because I was very poor. He told me later that when I first strode through the door, with my hair flowing down my back, completely pissed off, I looked so powerful that his attention was riveted - he was attracted and a little terrified - and he had no idea that I was someone he knew from online.)
4) Where was the first time you kissed this person?
I recall saying for years that it was under the Million Dollar Bridge, which doesn't exist anymore. But I'm a little confused, because I also recall kissing in his apartment.
5) Where did you go for your first date?
I don't know as you could say we ever had a proper first date. He started tutoring me in math and things just progressed very nicely, but then the bf started getting jealous and asked me to not see Eor for at least a few weeks. And that killed the summer. So I think it was in September or thereabouts that he came to my (and the bf's) place with a rose for me, and we went to the Million Dollar Bridge to throw it off, together, because I was still with the bf and it didn't look as though I'd ever be able to get free.
6) How long before you became a couple?
I'm pretty sure it was only like six months after we met that I was moving in with him, after having a final, disastrous argument with the bf in October. I walked out to where Eor worked, about five miles away, and told him I would need a place to stay. I was able to tell all my relatives that I was moving in with my brother, though, because in the meantime I'd set Eightball and Eor up as roommates. :)
7) How did he/she ask you out?
I... don't know! He just was an incredibly good friend and patient listener to all my troubles, and then, you know, the rose and the bridge. damn I guess I should have written more about it at the time. That was a long time ago, okay?
8) Has this person ever proposed to you?
Not as such, exactly. It was more along the lines of, "I have dental insurance, and you don't, and you have that broken tooth..."
9) Do you and this person have kids together?
Nope. No plans to.
10) Have you ever broken the law with this person?
I don't think so.
11) When was the first time you realized that you REALLY liked this person?
Oh, that moment I saw him in the computer lab.
12) Do you get along with his/her family??
I really like them. I think they think I'm a little odd and quiet.
13) Do you trust this person?
With my life.
14) Do you see them as your partner in your future?
I can't imagine anything else.
15) What is the most expensive thing they gave you?
Probably a chair. It's nice, with leather cushions. But also I act like the car I drive is mine.
16) What is one thing he/she does that gets on your nerves?
Cleans a little obsessively and crazily, sometimes.
17) What is the thing you do that gets on his/her nerves?
Not clean nearly obsessively enough. :)
18) What causes the most arguments?
Hunger.
19)Will this person repost this?
I hope so! I want to know what his memory says on some of the details I can't recall! Someone once told me I should write it up as a story, because it was very romantic, what with the love at first sight thing, but I don't have a good enough memory. Although possibly that's the way to get a proper fictionalization of events - just make up the stuff you don't remember.
