The northern short-tailed shrew has toxic venom*! A venom that can kill animals even bigger than itself. And then it eats them. I'm now pulling for keeping the thing around - I bet we won't have other mice if we keep it. :)

Somehow the concept of venomous mammals had never entered my mind before. But wiki says there are only about five types, so I'm only slightly ignorant I guess!
