Halfway through reading Wodehouse's "The Adventures of Sally," and all looks so hopeless for our heroes! (Even in the midst of frothy romantic comedy a few tears must fall.) We know they have to end up together, but the guy has been friendzoned for SO LONG. Is it because of sweet stories like this that guys continue to hold out hope for years when girls keep telling them "I'm just not into you." ?

I'm also wondering what else can happen in the second half. She might marry her friend the old man who just came into money, and then he could take ill again and die and leave her everything, and THEN she could marry her dimwitted-but-kind young redheaded man.

I have also ridden the stationary bike for a while, reading, and am pouring sweat. Pleased with that. Now need to shower and bake a pie before going over to a friend's house this evening. And possibly take with me other ingredients to make another pie while there, because she thinks she knows tricks to making pie crust. Ha ha, we'll see how that goes with trying to make gluten free pie crust, this should be amusing. ;)

The only other thing I've accomplished today is writing a synopses and snippet of my prospective NaNo (I'll probably re-write that tomorrow), two loads of laundry, and hand washing a sweater Eor bought for me.

It's quite a nice sweater, but he got it at the LL Bean Employee Store, which means it was returned. I suspect that someone wore it for years without ever washing it, keeping it in a mothballed closet every summer, and then returned it when they got bored with it or felt it was too dirty. Or they died and their heirs returned it. That happens a lot, because of LL Bean's generous return policy. I lost count of how many changes of water and infusions of soap I used before I started to feel like the water was starting to look a little less murky and the smell was more like wool and less like mothballs. More than a dozen changes of water, certainly, and then it was still slightly pink but at least I could see through it.
