Hawk came out of the surgery without having had the lobe of his lung removed. Which is not as good a thing as it sounds - they didn't bother because they realized the cancer had already spread. It's chemo and radiation, now. Thankfully, his parents-in-law are there and are incredibly capable and connected people, and seem to be doing all that is possible to get him the best care.

Eightball and I are trying to coordinate getting there to help out Hawk's wife, who is eight months pregnant. We want to be effective aid, not just guests in the way.

Yeah, this is shit. I'm trying to stay positive and think that since he's always worked hard to live a healthy lifestyle (smoked only socially, eats all organic and such, very active, does yoga and meditation and such) he'll have a good basis to fight this from.
