The other day when my phone alarm went off to remind me of something I needed to do I cranked at it, "Shut up!" Eor asserted that I was a 'bad parent,' yelling at the phone for doing what I had asked it to do. Since then I've been carefully responding to the alarms by saying, "Thank you, phone, for doing exactly what I asked you to do!"
