Are there any European countries that we (Eor and I) have the slightest chance to be able to become citizens of, as 50 year old workers without millions of dollars on hand? Or at least sensible countries... I'd consider someplace non-European if it's someplace we won't be kidnapped for the money we don't have.

Pfff. Tough one. Maybe Turkey. You could train as nurses. That would help.

A good suggestion. Eor's mother, sister and niece were nurses, and another sister still is, and my brother is a physician's assistant, and I respect the hell out of the jobs they do, let me tell you. I don't think I could get through it, honestly. Also, my graduating GPA wasn't good enough, I applied to a program a few years ago. They would not accept the GPA I built up after graduation.

Hmm. That's a bit frustrating. I'm in the opposite position. I keep getting people emailing me offering me nursing jobs in the USA, Dubai and Australia when all I really want is competitive pay and working conditions right here in England where I live now. It doesn't seem much to ask.
