Well, we may have figured something else out. The on and off low fever and the bursitis in his knees and swelling around his ankles and the base of his toes might be related to Lyme. (Maybe the achilles tendonitis, too, I'm not sure.)
He's been treated for Lyme before and thought it wasn't likely he would get it again, but it can happen. He got the blood test on either Monday or Tuesday, and then I think there may have been some miscommunication and he may have gotten it again on Wednesday, after seeing a doctor. The results won't be back for a few days but the doctor decided to get him on doxycycline right away, after looking at the purpleness of the swelling.
