The garlic came up a few days ago, Saturday our tiny, baby bushes were delivered (cherries, blueberries and one cranberry). Yesterday we erected the pea trellises (Eor) and planted peas (me), planted radishes between the stakes (Eor and myself), and planted out lettuce seedlings.

Then we found out that snow was forcast for last night. So we erected impromptu coverings for the lettuce. Some may have been relatively effective... others, well... it's a good thing we have a lot more lettuce seedlings. I haven't gone out to assess the damages yet, today. Possibly there will be another photo coming, soon.
Closeup on some of the tiny, baby lettuce which I crawled around on my hands and knees planting. As it looked yesterday. My knees felt so old when I got done, yesterday. I hope it was not in vain.

Dug these bricks up out of the ground where old walks were, and have slowly been building more wall each year. It helps stop rabbits and groundhogs. Apparently if they can't see in they aren't tempted. At the gates we use boards, so we can lift them and get the wheelbarrow through.

When we dug up some of the bricks we also relaid the paving tiles which were nearby. Not something that had been on our list of things to do. Pleased that one has so much moss - hope that thrives in it's new home.

Deer deterrent A - Irish Spring soap in a nylon stocking. The strong smell apparently keeps deer from smelling that there is yummy food inside the fence.

Deer deterrent B - Completely invisible fishing line strung between PVC pipe poles. Confuses deer with the sense of something touching them which they can't see. Apparently deer are afraid of ghosts.

I took a lot more pictures, but mostly they're not that informative because you can't really see what we did very easily. Here's Eor's write up of yesterday, and his write-up of Saturday - tree day.
