Just went out and checked on the lettuce. Those under the plastic tents looked fine. Those we couldn't cover (because we ran out of hoops) were not so happy.
Our ten minute plant protectors - something Eor threw together from scraps.
When we found out snow was in the forecast after having planted the lettuce seedlings, Eor found some half-hoops of metal left over from making tomato cages (a few years ago - from concrete reinforcing wire mesh) and construction plastic. Can you see how there's a hoop going diagonal? He only had to do one on each end to make it stable. And of course the ubiquitous bricks to hold it down from the wind.
