facebook weirdness

Somebody on Facebook just accepted my friend request. Only, to my knowledge, I never requested to be friends with this person. I don't recall trying to friend anyone for months. I wonder if I clicked on something by accident while trying to navigate the current sucky weirdness Facebook is manifesting. Huuuge lag time when I change pages, scroll, or try to get out of a picture.

Oh hey, the same thing happened to me a few days ago! I wondered if it was someone I tried to friend long ago under another name, who had changed her name and accepted by request? I didn't recognize her name but she and I had some friends in common, so I didn't think much of it. But that's weird, if it's happening to other people, too.

Could be! Odd it should happen to both of us. And I really don't recall thinking about friending someone from New Zealand. It's kind of creepy, and I feel like a jerk about unfriending them, but I think I will do so.

It sounds like spam. Facebook is being impossible these days! Whenever it loads notifications, it's blank. It only shows them once in a while. I keep my friend tally low but it still only shows me the same people. The posts about how to correct it are also spam.
