So... I never did talk about my trip to Seattle, and here I am on another vacation. One might get the impression that go on vaca is all I do, but I assure you this is not the case, but quite otherwise. It's just that I scheduled all four of my weeks in the few warmer months that were available. (In actual summer they have most days greyed out because they can't afford to have people off. And right now we're losing people faster than we can hire them. Summer's going to suck.)
We have been dealing with wood in one way or another constantly. For me, since Saturday morning. We put away a cord of kiln-dried stove wood, Eor cut a couple of ash trees and we rooted out some buckthorns, so he has cut and split and I have hauled branches and logs and splits pieces for the past three days. When we weren't doing that we planted 10 hazelnut bushes and an elderberry. Today we planted quite a lot of asperagus, too. And now the evening has caught up with me, and I'm too exhausted to post about Seattle. Tomorrow we go visit my cousin, D.

Here's the song in case you want to hear it (or already know it and want to hear it again): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-Pdg7GmLH0
I hope you have a lovely trip to see your cousin D! And I hope you have time and energy to post about Seattle when you feel up to it.

T-Acadie also cover Rolling The Woodpile Down. I think they change some of the words from the original ("Curly's just a Down East man")
It was nice to see D. We did the low-stress lunch - bring some sandwich makings and share them in her kitchen. I like that. Eor gets to eat just what he likes, I get to eat different lunch meats for a change. ;) Di is always up to her ears in projects around the house, too. And she talks a blue streak. :)

I have a couple more wood songs ... Herman, Hills, and Mangsen do another wood-related song which, despite the creepy title, is a happy song about people having a good time gathering wood. Raise the Dead of Wintertime.
Pint (rhymes with mint) and Dale do a song recommending the best types of wood; I can't find their version on YouTube, so I uploaded it to sendspace--think of it as a free sample of their music: The Woodcutter's Song. There's a song with a different title sung by Golden Bough that sounds like a fairly close cousin: Logs to Burn.
And now that I've talked your ear off (grin) - I'm also glad you had a good visit with D, and THANK YOU for the links!!!
