I don't have time to be introspective - gotta get all the things done before I meet up with my co-worker to head for ComiCon. Eor, of course, will be home keeping the home fires burning. Absolutely essential in a house like we have.
Poor Eor doesn't get much in the way of vacations - he always feels like he has to be taking care of this house in some way. We just paid it off, and that was like "Oh cool, this is so amazing, we actually OWN our house!" and yet... there's so much more to do, so much yet to be fixed, and so much of that is things we don't have the skills for. Nor, perhaps, the energy or the literal strength. And yet again, it's true that the blood, sweat and tears you've put into a place makes you feel like you're leaving a piece of yourself behind if you have to leave it, so it's hard to decide to sell. And where would we go? Rents are high right now. Buying anything else would be expensive. Even buying a lot somewhere and putting up a modular would be expensive right now. I found a site of a local modular home business that looks like they could produce the type of cottage I would like, but their site does not give any prices. If you have to ask it's too rich for your blood.
Anyway, time to get stuff done. So I can go be irresponsible.

Hope you have the best time at Com\Con.
Wondering how many NYC eateries are around anymore.
Of course I would think about food- miss the good food that the Northeast
has pretty much everywhere.
Have fun!

I have heard that a lot of restaurants went under, but we ended up not eating in New York. We drove until we could find a restaurant that had parking (tricky find on a phone - the friend's sister did it) and that turned out to be a taco truck in Waterbury, CT that was REALLY good. "Los Garcia Mexican Fusion", 4.5 stars on Yelp.
