Why can I not post between vacations? It's not like it's hard.
I'm super lucky to have 20+ years seniority at my job and be able to take the summer vacation weeks. I'm sure my coleagues are working hard. We've been bringing in help from all the spoke 'offices' for the past couple of weeks because it's so busy in the summer and we're at about 2/3 of the staffing we should have. (It's especially bad on my shift.) But you know, the usual summer complaints. (That's what we call tourists, too.)
We're still exploring our new neighborhood, and spent some time sitting down at the local java shop. A lovely place with a board that explains how about eight different types of coffee work with the milk and the foam, ratios, and what goes in the cup first. And an older woman who was delighted to talk about the tea they had on offer - at least three different types from that French group, Mariage Fr`eres. (I just realized I have no idea how to do the proper accent mark on my keyboard.)
*runs off to deal with the burning pan* It literally took me all day today to make some taco meat and parboil some potatoes for the camping trip. And at first I put half as much spice in the taco meat as I would prefer. Last night it was 10:30pm before the monster bars were ready to put in the fridge. I'm so glad there's a decent Thai restaurant ten minutes drive away.
