But I think I'm getting the hang of this business of running a class day after day! :) The 'boss' called in sick last night (and he was so out of it that he thought it was this morning when he called, so the woman from the Coordination Center who answered the phone told me), so I had to create the instance of the class in our training site and populate it.

I called the Helpdesk and got someone who knew less than I did, who asked me to phone her back in an hour (at which point I'd have had fifteen minutes to the start of the class). I had some instructions that were written by one of the other participants in that class I attended a few weeks ago (the guy I called my cousin because his family has been in the same small town for three generations as my Dad's family has lived in for at least six generations) and I started following those. Sort of felt like they'd been written about a different site than the one I'm using. I looked him up on Office Communicator, though, and he was available and willing to help, so that was great. :D I actually didn't end up asking him a lot of specific questions, but it made me feel a LOT better, and I bulled through and got it done somehow, if possibly not in the exactly correct way.

When a coworker of mine, a big, friendly puppy of a guy, came by and put his hand on my shoulder to say hi I whipped around going, "Is this a social call? Because I'm trying to get some work done, here. I've got issues that need to get worked out." He looked woefully crestfallen and I felt horrible about that. I just... I'd been interrupted a bunch of times by stuff I can't even remember, now, that seemed to have nothing to do with me, I had the class in about a half hour or less at that point, CuzDM on the OC, sucking up his time, and was feeling at the end of my tether. I didn't think I was really snappish, just... brusque, perhaps. I'll have to apologize to him if I can find the time tomorrow... after blocking out another class. And possibly calling the Helpdesk woman back and apologizing to her for not phoning her back in the hour when I said I would.

I actually told one of the big bosses, when he asked if I was busy - "I'm up to my neck, actually." He only asks for form and never cares what the answer is, anyway, so I might as well be blunt.

But... I feel like I'm getting my feet under me, perhaps, even if I am up to my neck. I think it all worked out, in the end. Everyone took their tests and passed and I got it all wrapped up and cleaned up by the end of the day. :)
