Oh my effing word I'm just so pissed right now at one of my facebook "Friends." He used to be one of my Supervisors at work and I should probably never have friended anyone I worked with, but at the same time you don't want to offend people by not friending them, or unfriending them. I guess I just want people to be more polite! I mean, you don't see that kind of rudeness in real life, nor on Dreamwidth or LiveJournal.

I'd say "oh well, it's a divisive issue" except for the fact that I've been crucified by feminist comrades for suggesting that it was in the past.

I absolutely hate work people being on my FB, but like you, if they ask I accept them. I think I'm just going to have to delete the thing one of these days, or else do a big cull of "friends".

Yeah, that's the one. I'm in this 'throw-up-my-hands' mode right now over that whole thing. I know he can behave better! I worked with him for years and we got along great. But then again, I should have confined my post to non-work friends, that was stupid of me.

You've had feminists get angry at you for admitting it's a controversial issue? How does this work? I mean, you can't stick your head in the sand and try to pretend it's not. That's what got me into this predicament, thinking I could just post any opinions I wanted to on my OWN facebook. :P

There's a WTF that's Sexist comm on LJ. I joined b.c I wanted to learn more about the issues. They get really bitchy, and they flame you for using the word bitchy. Instead of attacking the article that was posted, they attack the poster or other commentators for saying anything that might be just a smidgen different then their opinion. So I don't even bother commenting or asking questions, stopped reading the comments. So yeah, saying it's a controversial issue will get you into trouble.

As for FB, I was on for less than six months and I'm tired of it. Just too much stupidity popping up all the time.

Yeah, but then again that was back in art college and we were all young and headstrong. Maybe these days the people who got angry with me are still pro-choice but accept it's a complicated issue.
