My Sunday was filled with cooking - I did up a big breakfast, which carried us through until midafternoon when we had ice-cream, then I made apple-crisp and we had some of that and MORE ice-cream, and I made chicken parm as our big meal for the week. Did a lot of dishes. Also, in the morning, worked on my curtains. Very annoyed - both of them came out too short, even though I measured carefully. Apparently they need to be longer because the crumpling on the rod sucks up length. They're doing for the moment, though, and still look better than the rags which were hanging over the front door windows.

Just remembered that I have yet to finish uploading all the pics I took of the Faire. Come to that, though, I actually have not yet uploaded all the pics of England. I think one problem, here, is that I really took way too many and haven't made choices about what is the MOST worthwhile to look at. It makes the job of uploading overwhelming. And then nobody gets to see anything, so where's the point in pics?

We got ourselves a new comforter for the bed, one of the medium weight down quilts from L.L. Bean, and sweated like mad last night. We used it the night before, too, but I guess being too warm didn't bother us because we'd both taken allergy meds. Last night was miserable. I spent way too much time in that dreaming-but-half-awake state, which I hate, and thrashing around. I've heard that sativa will put you in that state and I don't have any desire to try it out because I find that really fucking annoying. I was variously convinced, at different times, that I'd been adopted when I was 11 years old (not true) that we had a door into the basement instead of the hall closet(1) and into another part of the building through some unused back rooms that don't exist. (Unused back rooms that don't exist are a constant theme in dreams for me, not sure why.)

It also didn't help that the train went through, sounding like it was in a hurry, at 1:36AM, and back through at 4:35AM. I was then wide awake, and started thinking about "Wild, Wild West."

I probably just needed more exercise, rather than just wearing myself out with cooking. And possibly less sugar. I also ate the apple peels coated in brown sugar and rice powder, baked. Yum.

Maaan, I'm being completely frikken useless, today. I mean, yeah, I'm not going to get around to everything, but it seems I should get around to something. All I've done is read, and a little stretching. All I want to do is sleep. :P For real sleep, not toss and turn!

(1) This was my brain playing with known fact, because it's obvious that the hall closet was, at one time, the door to the basement.

Both me and Mickey often dream about being in some familiar building but finding new strange rooms in them. I've no idea what it might mean (if anything) but for me at least it doesn't feel like a stress dream or anything bad.

Being too warm always gives me really weird dreams.

I often have dreams about my house suddenly going on and on in directions that I'd forgotten about; sometimes there are people living back there, and other times there is all sorts of cool stuff from the previous residents that I'm dying to go through, but something always interrupts my foraging, which bums me right out.

Any chance you can upload the pic(s) taken of the garbed goddesses on the day the Faire was cancelled? I still don't have a good feel for how the Eowyn sleeves look from a distance, and might want to re-do them if the effect isn't what I was hoping for.

I'm sure she will, I just have to ask, and thank you for reminding me! :)

Yep yep yep! I forgot to mention that this dream usually involves loads of cool old junk that previous tenants had left, so it now all becomes mine. Maybe it's just a greedy dream, greed for inheriting a huge pile of dusty old rubbish!

But some dusty old rubbish is way cool! I know this portion of my dream stems from my fascination with the women who used to live in my house. See the icon? It's an old photo of one of them, which I actually obtained from an antique shop in an entire box of old stuff (diaries, photos, other documents) that had originally come from my house. That was one weird coincidence! In my dream, there are dressers and boxes full of similar stuff, which of course is rightfully mine, and fully necessary to preserve the legacy of Quail Manor (which seems to be a legacy of misandrist widows and spinsters, but that's largely conjecture).

I think I'm greedy for space! :) Only, at the same time, those unused rooms often give me the creeps, and I'm eager to clean the dusty old junk out of them (and in my dreams it pretty much just is junk - broken bits of wood) and get my stuff into them, or get a roommate to use those rooms. I hate unlived in space, but I always want more space for my stuff. ;)
