Just after we got home from buying a bed this morning my brother, Hawk, called to let me know he's coming to the East Coast to visit. So I was able to tell him we have a bed for the guest bedroom. I didn't mention that we don't yet have a mattress for it. Hopefully we'll manage that part before he gets here. :) I should probably have assured him that the guest bedroom is NOT an unused room - I've been using it for sewing, and most of our clothes are hanging in that closet. He's chary of unused rooms, and refused to sleep in the last guest bedroom we were able to offer him, saying it creeped him out.

It's a gorgeous bed, and we got it for a hundred bucks because it's kind of damaged. We'll have to glue one of it's little knobs back on the top of a bedpost. Maybe I'll take a pic of it; I think it's kind of gorgeous. But then I'll have to upload it. I'm still trying to get Faire pictures uploaded. I hope I can rearrange the order of the pics in my gallery after they're uploaded, because one of the sets just didn't go. :P

I've been reading way too much fic. It started because of uploading those darn pics and the damned thing churning forever and taking so looooong. I got started reading fic and then got distracted and forgot it was just supposed to be 'for a few minutes while I was waiting.' Today it's the first chapter of a Holmes/Watson fic, The Case of the Kidnapped Inspector. It reads as if she has a fair amount of knowledge about the time period, far as I can tell by her details about the English judicial system as it affected Ireland. I didn't know they sent English hangmen over.

I cooked Black Mustard Chicken and Potatoes Au Gratin (incorrectly called 'scalloped potatoes' in our recipe book - also, I doubled the white sauce) this afternoon. And then of course we ate and ate and ate. I recommend not cooking these dishes together, you'll put on weight. Oh my god I'm fat. I have no self-control. And it'll be 8pm before Prairie Home Companion is over - I probably won't want to walk on the treadmill that late. Plus there's a whole pile of laundry on the bed to put away.

Okay, well. That was some rambling. And all because I felt as though I had to update because I hadn't in the last four days. I can't really listen to Garrison Keiller and compose at the same time.
