Thursday night, actually, but for some silly reason I thought I'd already updated my LiveJournal with this information. I was going to write to family and friends first, then update here, but got too tired. In fact, the last person I wrote to that evening was O, who called 15 minutes later all excited, and woke me up. She was happy about the fact that we'd decided on moving to Portland rather than New Orleans, because she'll still be able to see us sometimes.:) Until she moves to Paris, but anyway...
I was pretty much floored by news of the offer, and went bouncing around work in a daze for a while after.:) It was the woman who wanted her boyfriend to come see the place, he loved it too.:) Which makes me happy... I'd hate to see this place go to someone who would want to make over the bathroom right away. (I may have mentioned this before, but I'm not going to go back and look at my old posts right now. When we sold the house I lived in when I was a kid the new owners gutted it out and made it all modernistic. That pretty much pissed me off - all that lovely, dark tongue and groove wainscotting in the kitchen, gone. The place was pretty run down, but there was no call for that sort of butchery.)
I'm getting psyched on going back to Portland, and I think our friend C. is getting psyched to see us back there. She phoned last night and talked with both of us for like an hour.:) Although she wrote: "portland 's sort like family or a lover........or the weather" - i.e., sometimes it's great, other times it can be really annoying, but what are you going to do? She's pretty tired of Portland, though she says "but with you guys here it would be a different portland.." I think she was seriously considering going to New Orleans if we went, I hope she's not disappointed in that respect.
Can't think what else I want to write at the moment. Today was pretty restful, just did some cleaning up - sweeping and mopping, and picking up dogshit from the yard. One of the neighbors got a good look at what I was doing, I hope he tells the woman who's dogs they are. I'll miss the yard and even the garden, but I won't miss the dogs from next door all that much. We just found out a couple of weeks ago that there's a thing which has a motion sensor and makes a noise dogs hate - we have to tell the new owners they should get a couple of those!
Okay, now I've probably written myself out for the next week.:)

on a selfish note, i'm happy to see that a seventh person will be added to the ranks of poly-maine-livejournalers. *grin* we're about an hour north of portland.

maine-area list/lj gatherings sound great...i read enviously about all the boston events, but i've been working six day weeks and so our social time is a bit limited.
