I woke up at 5am realizing I hadn't fed my cats before bed, my throat was horribly sore, and I was starving. But I must have been quite soundly asleep before that, as my ususually very persistant hungry cat didn't manage to wake me earlier. Got up and had a cup-a-soup - those things aren't really food, but they're sometimes just the ticket.:) Feeling much better, now, but I don't think I can go back to sleep. We have to make a trip to Portland in about 4 hours, so it hardly seems worth it.
We're going to put down a deposit on an apartment today - yaaaaaaay! And I'm so psyched on this place! It's large, in a decent building and location, and right in town. Only one parking space comes with the apartment, but our van can sit there and our little Chevey Metro can curb-surf pretty effectively.
Our house is not all sold, yet, there's some issues with the septic and we'll end up losing lots more money out of that, but I really can't bring myself to care all that much. Eor's tearing his hair out, and I sort of feel bad for not sharing the intensity of his feeling, but I'm all high on the thought of change right now. I love change, I love moving, and it will be nice to be back in a city. Portland has such an amazing diversity of people. Sometimes I wonder if, for it's size, it might not even be more diverse than Boston. Different people seem to mix and mingle so freely in Portland. Also, being back in Portland will be like getting back to my own little kingdom in a way, since I run the bi and poly in northern new england lists. I'm going to try to get together regular events of some sort for the lists. Our apartment will have to be quiet before 10pm, so these events won't be rowdy parties.;)
The only thing that's going to suck is getting another job. I don't like knowing nothing, I feel like an idiot, which you have to for a while when you're the newby.
