I think my day off yesterday did me some good, and I really appreciated that the sun didn't come slamming in my window at some ungodly hour this morning (like it did all weekend). I must have slept nearly eleven hours last night. My sore throat is almost gone, and my head is much clearer. I felt bad that I had to be sick when we had a friend here visiting, but Butonquail didn't seem to have any inclination to go do anything in particular, so it was okay. At one point on Sunday I suggested going to Two Lights park, and she seemed completely uninterested.
Lovely sunny days, though a bit cool. Saturday we were most ambitious - Caw came over and hung out, we played dress-up and she got to be a Barbie-doll, we took a lesiurly walk to the edge of the Old Port and had a very late (3pm) lunch at Hi Bombay. Goooood Indian food, in fact much better than I recall from the last time I went there, which must have been over 5 years ago. Although I've got to admit that on Saturday I'd been drinking since shortly after noon, and had only eaten a yogurt and a small pudding cup all day, so my perception may have been a bit skewed.;)
The walk and the food sobered us, and we did our grocery shopping, then got talking about Red Dwarf and somehow Butonquail and I managed to bowl over Eor's objections that we have no money (he can't stand up to two women with the same thing in mind ;)) and we went out and bought a DVD player and The Matrix on DVD. See, the DVD player was because a guy I work with had told me that Videoport had the whole Red Dwarf series on DVD. This turned out NOT to be the case, but we rented 3 VHS tapes and that was probably quite enough, anyhow. So that night we watched The Matrix, with Caw, and after she left we had an ep of Red Dwarf.
Sunday we cooked Khara Masala Lamb, papadums, and naan, and watched Red Dwarf.
I haven't had such an enjoyable weekend being a bum in quite a while.:) Butonquail is good company. And probably laying around and eating was exactly what she needed to do, as she just broke up with a guy she'd been seeing for almost a year, and she had lost 10lbs in the past 2 weeks. Which, where she was already thin, she really can't afford to lose.
