I spent yesterday (and seem likely to spend today) reading Wikipedia.  I just get caught up in that sort of thing, sometimes.

Which leads me to the conclusion that camwyn is right: "One commandment will be added to every religion that operates in my empire whether they like it or not. That commandment will be: Don't Be A Jerk. If a religious variant is predicated upon being a jerk- like, for example, Fred Phelps' freaky-ass brand of religion- it forfeits its right to be called a religion and instead becomes a bunch of people being jerks."

I finally figured out how to transcribe mizzmarvel's phone posts of the trip from California to Indiana, so I went back and did all of them.  :)  Well, 'all' - there were only three.  Transcription takes a while.  But I wish now that she had done more.  They have that surreal/mundane quality so redolent of road trips.

Halfway through doing the meme (backward, of course) I got a call from my brother, who's up at Dad's at the moment, and his ear infection has gotten worse.  He's running a fever and the side of his face is getting numb, and now I'm all worried.  We got him a phone number for the ear doctor eor went to up here, and he'll phone tomorrow.  I urged him to keep an eye on that fever.  And I guess that's all I can do.
