I pointed people to the question [livejournal.com profile] eor asked a couple of days ago, but only one person responded, so I'm hoping that being more specific will catch more people's eyes.

Questions for those of you residing outside the US:

1. Why should someone want to live in your country? Talk it up. Give me the pro's and con's. Social environment, economic outlook, cost of living, I'll take the works. Gab about what you love. Rant about what you hate. (Do specify the country you're talking about or it's kind of a pointless exercise)

2. For the friends list: Do you have spare space that you would be comfortable sharing on a short term or very short term basis? (taking into consideration that things change and you're not committing to anything)

Nothing immediate. Just sniffing the wind and thinking about the future.

I was reading "Strangers," the book [livejournal.com profile] daegaer sent me, and happened across the phrase "Is he musical?" listed as one of the many ways that people - particularly straight people - would attempt to determine if someone they were talking about was gay, and I had to laugh.

I thought they always recognized each other )

I've been trying to use LJ to just record certain things for my own convenience in looking back, but when I try to backdate entries the damn thing occasionally decides to work and sometimes just doesn't.  I can sit there and make the same entry five times over, the first three times it works, then it doesn't, then it takes six failures before it works again.  If I just did this at the time, instead of retrospectively, I might have much less frustration.  Also, if I wasn't hungry right now it might help.  Must eat.
