I'm getting downstairs (working in baggage) time this week because my trainee is on vacation, attending her college graduation in Florida. So, yay for not working directly with passengers! :) Also I talked with two people with whom I'd been having some annoyance, and feel better about those situations. And V., a previous trainee of mine, has been offered full-time, which means there are now 4 full-time women on my shift and it's slightly more possible I'll get some vacation time this summer. The days in June which I wanted for going to Baxter State Park are now mine, finally. My manager IS trying, I think. Poor lady is all broke out in hives, which seems to happen when she gets stressed out - not surprising that she is the way things are going. All these newbies getting trained and then leaving. (It really does suck, though, to quit your job so you can attend the classes required for this job, then train at 40 hours/wk and then get knocked back to 20 when your training is over and stuck on whatever shift they want you on, with the understanding that your shift is probably going to change again in six months - can you imagine trying to keep another job under conditions like that? "Oh, sorry, now I have to change my hours again because I'm being moved to morning shift and will have to be at work at 3:45 in the morning.")
