RIP Marcel Marceau, age 84.

Marceau was credited with single-handedly reviving the art of mime after World War II, after two decades of being eclipsed by the silent movie.

He was the only person to get a speaking line in Mel Brooks "Silent Movie." :)

All of yesterday was driving to Lake Winnepesaukee, hanging with a co-worker of Eor's and driving home. Long drive. Literally I rolled out of bed and went straight to the store for the grocery shopping, then we were into the car, without so much as caffeine or even water. Didn't eat until we got to Wolfboro, where we had breakfast at like 11:30.

Kayaking on the lake with Eor and Eor's coworker's sister was great, and Eor apparently had much amusement and satisfaction out of trying to help his friend detatch a chain from a tree. Said friend's father had wrapped the chain around with a pully on it to lift the dock up during the winter, and only recently did friend and friend's sister realize it was there and was choking the tree. And otherwise the four of us assembled a puzzle, had dinner and then went out for some fantastic ice-cream in Wolfboro.

And got home at 10pm and crashed.

Reading "The Last Sherlock Holmes Story" Book #39

Yeah. "The Last Sherlock Holmes Story" - Michael Dibdin. Pretty cocky title, hm? He seems to think he's all that and a bag of chips, and so does his Holmes. Essentially, I thought it was kind of an interesting idea, but I didn't think it was well or convincingly executed. I'm not going to reveal the actual point and idea here in case you want to read the book, but if you want to know you can email me.

People gave me things, today. One coworker gave me scads of books that she's been unable to sell, and another gave me a box of cookies that he must have ate just one of and not liked. I liked them well enough, but I'm not all that picky when it comes to cookies I guess. ;)
