I had to make a run out to the Maul area to get underwear for Eor and undershirts for me (for under my uniform). Because my blood pressure ratchets up the moment I enter a department store (unless I'm just keeping someone else company, and then I'm completely fine) I tend to put off leaving for far too long, and of course started getting hungry almost as soon as I arrived. Well, there's probably an extreme boredom and wanting to run away thing going on there - "Oh, I'm hungry, must stop shopping." Anyway, after much annoyance I did manage to find some t-shirts that might work, although they're mens and I probably should have bought smalls because after opening them to add them to the laundry pile they look huge.
But I just don't get it. I used to get women's Fruit of the Loom t-shirts, and they were nice. Now I can only find Hanes, and the quality is just not there - the seams started popping the minute I put on the last one I bought. For undershirts everyone seems to think women only want a-shirts (aka wife-beaters) or long sleeve t-shirts. That was all I could find in womens. And the clothes that are available for women, it's like they think all women work in offices and as cashiers. Hullo. Some women do work in uniforms. It's as though people think that all women who have jobs that are traditionally men's jobs want to wear men's clothing. I end up having no choice, usually, and have to fall back on men's shoes and pants, but even men's t-shirts?
DID manage to find Fruit of the Loom underwear. I know this is not such exciting news to anyone else, but it's pretty odd - I had begun to think that nobody carried that brand anymore.
The only thing in the store that lured me was the boxer shorts. I have absolutely no use for them because Eor won't wear them and they all have flies so they're not really modest enough for shorts, but the plaid ones are so damned cute. :)
Well, no, not entirely true - there were some clothes in the women's section that I wanted to look at, but I have no use for office wear at the moment so there's no sense in spending money. Although I do feel that hypothetically if I had a better office wardrobe I be better situated for going to office job interviews.
Crap. There were some other things I wanted to do today and I haven't even started looking into them. Must run.
